Should I use the Wi-Fi Body Scale if I wear a pacemaker?
No, you should not use the Wi-Fi Body Scale if you wear a pacemaker or other internal medical device. The Wi-Fi Body Scale circulates a small electrical signal in your body to perform some of its measurements such as fat mass and heart rate, which may interfere with a pacemaker or other medical device. You can however consider purchasing the Withings Wireless Scale (WS-30) model, which can be used even if you wear a pacemaker.
Note: If you already own the Wi-Fi Body Scale and wish to keep it you can use it as long as you disable the body fat measurements from the Dashboard. You can do so from the Withings Health Mate app.
Should I use my scale while I am pregnant?
There is no known risks associated with pregnant women using Withings scales.
However, you cannot expect an accurate fat mass reading. Therefore, we recommend to disable the fat mass measurement. You can do so from the Withings Health Mate app.
- Open the Withings Health Mate app.
- Tap My devices.
- Tap Wi-Fi Body Scale.
- Deselect Fat mass and heart rate measurement or Fat mass measurement.
Note: When you deactivate the fat mass measurement, it is deactivated for all the users of your account.
